Even AI Companies Don’t Rip and Replace

  • Google DeepMind — one of the world’s premier AI research labs — uses Google Workspace. Gmail. Google Docs. Google Sheets. They didn’t build an AI-native document editor. They use the one that already exists.
  • GitHub’s Copilot team — the team building AI-powered code completion — uses GitHub Issues and GitHub Projects. They built AI on top of their platform, not a replacement for it.
